Because Now You’re a Poet

Accidental Poet

Man, woman or child

Sooner or later will know it

A craft of poetic words

A river of prose to row it

 

It’s a calling from deep within

Eagerly your Muse will tow it

Planting the seeds of inspiration

In your heart to sow it

 

Because once it starts

You’ll be compelled to roll it

If it feels sad

Then you’ll console it

 

Give it a beat

So you can control it

Add some strings

And you Rock and Roll it

 

Tell those apprentices

Too shy to show it

Keep reading and writing

Because now you’re a poet
