Blanketing the curse
of separation
Distance covers memory
—to sleep inside the pain

Excellent write, Kurt.
With me itโs about a three days drive.
As long as you're in motion, Jerry. You know what they say
about stationary targets ๐
'there's a familiarity to pain
its warmth of suffering
can sustain us much better
than that cold neglect, we feel
at the mercy of enforced - isolation;
that's why some of us like the rain
to come in monsoon waves, recognising
its unyielding bombardment of tearful fury
see, because we know
its only ever, truly - over
when we can longer
close our eyes and remember
that tattooed scorching heartburn
of a reminder
that we too: once had it, that good...'
(what can I say, oh wise poet
but thank you - again, for continuously inspiring me
and offering me a ladder to climb and grow)
a humbling privilege, to read your poetic genius
thanks for choosing to share!
Thanks LB. insightfully kind as usual.
Kurt
