FREEDOM

Oscar Gonzalez

FREEDOM

Some value power, others value wealth.
For some wealth is inherited, for others it must be dutifully earned.

Some might value love, for it gives one the fulfilment of an emotion.

The great are said to value glory,
Through finding a justified glorious death.
To dine with the kings of old,
the greatest mightiest warriors that one can unearth in history and tales of old.

I on the other hand value what I took for granted.
When I didn't know yet what it fully meant.

Freedom!
Freedom to soar and glide to eternity till the ends of time.

To become dust where I came from,
Simply gliding on the sands of time.

Read your ‘About me’ with interest. A couple of thoughts: I don’t do cyber friendships, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enter into (over time) lengthy understandings with an occasional individual here through postings. I note as of now you don’t read other poets works as available via their current postings and their back catalogues. Why not? there are poets here you may like (and comment upon), others not. Me, there are some who don’t like me and that for the most part is reciprocated. Some I understand and appreciate.
Your current piece: Covers a lot of ideas until you reach ‘Freedom’. I hope you have some – far too few in this world have. I enjoyed the write.
    Welcome to MPS.
