Wasted Memories Too

Wasted Memories Too

And all that’s left is the dark.

Once there was music full of truth

but now we are silenced by righteous youth.

It’s done!

And all of us will be sad

when every day they sing

songs full of lies that sting.

Do not listen!

Keep searching for something meaningful

but let me know where you are

if you ever need accompaniment.

Our time no longer has harmony.

There will be few performances.

Parting will bring heartache

and surely, it will be raining.

There is no treatment.

No matter how high they crank

the volume, it will not stir

the remnants of our lost rhythms.

Only time can heal the sounds

of this love’s dirty dis-chord.
