REMEMBER ME

AzaleaTruth

Deep within the woods,

The broken branches,

of an ivy tree that stood,

Were covered with icicles,

So sharp so cold.

On the bark of the stiffened tree,

Was sculpted a tale,

That was all but frozen like the hail,

And hidden deeply somewhere.

Though I touched it with care,

The ice fell apart,

Every heart in the wood,

Gathered around me,

And on unknown beats they played,

Came the tale on the bark alive.

My ears stood up,

As they reminisced in unison:

" Where the sky and the earth collided,

The horizon of them so deep resided.

She in his every last dream,

That's how his nights end.

Her drifting in his arms,

That's how his days began.

And every morning he promised,

While embedded deep in her,

That he'll make this love,

A note,

To the music he'll play,

Till the fall of the day.

But she tripped off a cliff.

And he slipped off her mind.

So under the frozen ivy tree,

He cared a hex on their tale,

And everyday wished she remember,

The stars that shine,

High up in their name.

And he wished,

He could drown once again,

In the heart of her heart,

Through the sea of her eyes.

And that's all he can do,

Just pray and wish,

That one day she'll remember him,

Sitting under the ivy tree,

Carving on this bark,

The story of their love,

That has become,

The lyric of his breath,

And hangs in every heart that was made!! "

The second they finished,

Silence of the night stirred them,

Away into the darkness.

Embracing myself I thought,

How with every passing word that was said,

I felt the winds gushing,

As if making me aware,

Of the blood rushing,

Through the veins in me,

To the Brooks of my heart,

Giving rise to a current,

Like never before.

The tale on the bark,

Appeared so strange,

Yet felt so familiar.

I stood and stared,

Confused by the nexus I felt,

With the sculptor so rared.

As if in sync,

With my mind in the dim,

The clouds gave away,

And a beam from heaven,

Shone directly on my face.

I closed my eyes to absorb its warmth.

But...

The memories aligned with,

Every word from the tale on the bark,

Chronicled on my soul,

Bringing heaven down on earth...

Sitting on the beach,

With my hands weaved in his,

Staring at the horizon so deep!!!

Each morning in his arms,

And he in the streets of my spirit!!!

Each night dancing,

On the floor of our hearts!!!

Taking him in,

With my every last breath!!!

The depth of his touch...

The colours of his love...

The notes of his music...

His songs for my soul...

All came back to me,

Like the alphabets,

Compiling to form my story.

My soul was bleeding,

Through the book of my eyes.

As I remembered,

The night I had tripped,

And off the cliff I went.

By every inch the gravity pulled,

The stories from my life evaporated,

To the heavens high up.

When I clashed on the ground,

I was just an empty soul,

Without a meaning,

That had lost the songs of its being.

I kicked myself hard,

For letting him slip,

When all that ever left his lip,

Was love for my heart so scarred.

As I kept falling deeper,

Into the pits of my self loath,

My ears picked up,

A melody from a kazoo.

I turn around to search for its start,

And my heart skipped a beat,

'Cause my eyes found a match,

With a pair that once were,

The mirror to my soul,

And the ocean of my love.

His eyes travelled slowly,

Up the length of my body.

And when stilled on my face,

The melody stopped at a middle pace.

He stared straight,

Into the core of my soul.

And I know he saw,

The haze lift from,

His home he built there.

Standing before me was the sculptor of,

The tale on the bark.

And with a lingering smile on his lip,

He walked towards me,

Wiped my silent tears,

That shouted my misery,

Only he could hear.

He pulled me close,

And whispered in my ear,

" Like the air above you so free,

Like the earth below you so strong,

Like the waters around you so deep,

Like the fire within you for me,

Is how my spirit meant with you to be;

I won't hate you less,

For letting me slip.

But I will love you more,

As strong as I can,

For you to always,

Remember me again."

Deep within the woods now,

The broken branches,

Of an ivy tree that stood,

Were covered with a splash of green.

So pied so warm.

Together he and I,

Stared at the stars,

And listened to our tale,

That every moment proclaimed.

Cherished again and again,

Till the end,

Of their never ending poetry,

For him and me.

The End.
