I Love You

Accidental Poet



It’s there in the morning

Still there when I go to sleep

Your smile within my heart

For all time, mine to keep

 

You’ve been gone now

A very long time

And yes, I miss you

But still your smile is mine

 

And though you’re not here

I smile everyday for you

Cause that’s what you do to me

In the night time too

 

In the warmth of your eyes

I saw Heaven in your soul

In the depths of your smile

I’ve never been more whole

 

And where you take me to

I don’t know where

All I do know is

My happy place there

 

No, I’m not with you

But you’ve always been with me

Through my highs and lows

A better man to be

 

Guess I’ll see you one day

Maybe a Heavenly rendezvous

When you’ll hear me say

I love you
