Pietism Fatale (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Jello mold converts…

frozen believers

Trapped in plain sight,

their freedom to lose

Set in the form,

immobile and suspect

Hope locked in stillness

—unable to move

(Dreamsleep: July, 2021)

Truth In Default

All the young Jews,

all the young Christians,

all the young Muslims,

debt to confuse

Abraham crying,

prophesy fading,

hellish debentures

—Heaven to lose

    kinda crazy
just how far the intentioned goodness
    of faith based, belief
    has been distorted - permanently:
    by zealotry's pietism...
to think, in the old days
theology - merely as an ideology
    performed a minor miracle
with all its 'hell fire fear mongering'
    to unite, a callous humanity
    from all the anarchy
    and loathsome devaluation
    of a life's worth;
    and now
    people's mistrust and hatred
    of weaponised
    divisive, organised religions
    is delivering the herd majority
    of society - back
to that nihilistic apathy: of life...
'cyclical', somehow doesn't do enough justice
    to articulate
    our capacity for self-destruction, anymore;
    even those original chaos deities
    probably think, we're the ones
    a little too: crazy!
    lol
