The Space

rebmasters

I don’t know how to tell you I’m sorry
so I write a poem instead.
The space between thoughts or feelings
& words
is what poetry is for.
Multiple voids,
not enough words.

I never meant to impose a part of myself on you
& your locked life.
Always considering myself to be
unintrusive and cowering
in a secret space of my own;
no presence big, vibrant enough
to affect someone else.

I am always afraid,
I didn’t anticipate your own fears.
You are the one with love & light.
Visions of your future dance in
dreams that for me are long since past.
Don’t think of me
anymore
