L. B. Mek

It’s, in the way

It’s, in the way

she cradles her baby with one arm

while calloused fingertips - dip

testing, searing temperatures

with her instinctive thermometer

or, after labouring all day

finding enough - energy

to smile wholeheartedly, altruistically

for that other, needy

she loves: so dearly.

Hope I'm reading this correct L.B.
A woman's labours are never finished it seems. And it is so true my friend.

yup, a pitiful (in context) dedication
to those wonderful nurturers, who manage
      to cultivate and sustain
that eco system, we call: a unified home.
      an old fashioned sentiment, maybe
but a worthy endeavour, for the few that still find worth
in being an anchor for those they love.
thanks for the proactive attempt to relate-to
and interpret, my scribble - for others to understand
      appreciate your generosity, dear poet

      Female labors all day long,
the male expects her to still perform

      - smilingly

      • L. B. Mek

        thankfully, that's being corrected
at least in more modernised societies
        where the workload/responsibilities
        is being balanced-out and shared
without chauvinistic prejudice to get in the way,
this write, is less political in context
more of a championing - dedication
to those who 'choose' - to evolve, into that pillar
of a loving foundation and insure their family
        blossoms and thrives,
i.e. the true superheroes of society!
        (thanks for the insightful
        and empathetic comment, dear poet)

yeah this gruelling weather's got me up early
otherwise me and my keyboard, would melt away... lol
hopefully starts to cool down by Thursday 🙏🤞
thanks for the encouraging comment my friend
glad you could find some solace in my humble scribble

A mother's love conquers all obstacles. A lovely poem LB 🙂

          • L. B. Mek

            perfectly and poignantly summarised!
            thank you dear poet

That love between a mother and baby will never fail no matter what pressure comes in her life.

            • L. B. Mek

yeah, but sadly - not always the case
but that's why we need to appreciate
the good one's, when we can..
that's all, that these words were meant to celebrate
and convey, that - superhuman nature
of a nurturer's capacity, to overcome
and imbue love, in every hurdle
              they come across..
              thanks Andy
such a warm and sincere comment

              Very nice, short but sweet.

              • L. B. Mek

yeah, that was my initial attraction on first read/edit
as I too gravitated towards its sweet
and rather romantic tones, as well
thank you for highlighting that subtle element
of this token dedication, dear poet

Even when being mindful I know I'm not for all that she gives is what I can not...

Oooo I got a great picture to go with that, always a pleasure to get your inspiration in blink and tap!

                • L. B. Mek

blink and tap, as we plod along and plot
our songs, on those qwerty keys of hope
                  serenading, all we cherish
                  in recognition
of those we owe for lightening our loads, through
                  the speed bump - hurdles
                  and shining that appeasing torch
                  in those dark roads
of our chosen, jarring - paths
                  of life

                    thanks for commenting/supporting dear poet
                    indeed, we should treasure
all the unassuming - good, nourishing our lives
                    whilst: we have the chance...

The feelings of a mother for her child.Such warm felling . Thank you for sharing.

                    • L. B. Mek

                      essentially, that unassuming quality
                      of dedication and passion
we - too often, take for granted
                      in those nurturers
we're so fortunate: to have Brighten
                      our lives..
thanks for the supportive comment, dear poet
