The Eye's Pupil

flyingfish

Eye said:
"To be loved one must first learn to love oneself"
Pupil said reflecting:
"I'll look for someone just like you and me."
"One who wears a daisy chain of forget-me-nots, blue."
"For loving eyes see eye to eye, true."

  • Comment from author about the poem: The word 'pupil' comes from a Latin word that means "girl," "doll," or "puppet." The pupil of someone else's eye is like a mirror where one can see a tiny image of oneself.

      a wonderful read
      and an important message:
      "To be loved
      one must first learn
      to love oneself"..
      (thanks for sharing, dear poet)

To be able to see one’s reflection in someone’s eye, is not to see an image but to know how they really see you.
A short but a very powerful poem.

Yes, but to me it, also detracts from seeing deeply within. Self focus needs to be blurred. IMO. Thanks for your feedback.
