Waiting, as our muse: of life

They say it pours, never trickles

when you least expect rain – to invade

feeling’s too

seem to share, those rude characteristics

and amongst all our drenched, dreary

eventually: grow roots of flailing possibility.

See, what is washed away or cried to oblivion

are usually elements within our failed certainties

we can choose, to survive without

as our quintessential, entrenched

aren’t dislodged: so easily.

I wait, armed with sunshine nourished hope

welcoming: all of opportunity;

do not be alarmed

by Time’s wrinkling, thread marks

etched, into my skin

for I earned them, greedily

with each bite of afforded gaiety, I grasped fervently.

Still, foreshadowing lay-lines of those paths, waiting

to be realised, as our next memory milestones

entice invitingly, like - empty motorway lanes

once we’ve chosen: our next destination.

Dear L.B. - - Loudest applause for this write on survival by being positive - - this has to be first in my list of favourites and shall read it over and over again. First class penning my friend.

    • L. B. Mek

I simply drown, in the heated humidity
of my blushing grey hairs, dear Fay
      wow, such a kind endorsement
of my scribbled effort: thank you!
and I, wholeheartedly - shall treasure
your every word, till my very end
      with unreserved: humility.

    • Teddy.15

Another magnificent poetry lesson for us all dear L.B Thank you for your inspiring nature.

      • L. B. Mek

        lol, dear Poetess
it's I who mimics blossoming - ink, under the kindness
of giving - nourishing heart's, like yourself
thank you, I believe you may be the first
to refer to my feeble efforts as 'magnificent poetry'
what a humbling milestone, in my poetic journey!

      • Neil Higgins

        Excellent LB.
"I wait, armed with sunshine nourished hope"
You can't get more positive than that.

        • L. B. Mek

indeed, almost took that line out, lol
but hey - what can I do
I choose to hope with blinkered gaiety
for as long as fate: allows me,
thanks for such an encouraging comment, dear poet

        • Niyitanga Pacifique

          Penned well dear Mek...

          • L. B. Mek

          • Jerry Reynolds

            Excellent write, L.B.
Very pleasant coffee read on a sunny
            Friday morning

            • L. B. Mek

glad I could repay the favour Jerry
              as your poetic genius
has brought sunshine, to so many
              of my mornings!
              thank you, my friend

            • aDarkerMind

              and with a positive mind....

              comes a masterpiece!

              • L. B. Mek

its a very unique and rare experience in life
                when your efforts are recognised
                by someone whose talent, you admire - so highly;
worth more, than any degree or achievement award
as it reassures those self-cultivated pillars
kept, hidden deep within those corridors
of unlit candles, to long - surrendered: dreams...
                (in short, dear Poet
                humbly: and with genuine delight
                I thank you!)
may your kindness be rewarded, tenfold!

              • 🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷😸

Wow awesome and sublime muse here. I like the comparison of rain to feelings and all. Nice to read from your pen again. Kudos!

                • L. B. Mek

                  thank you, dear poet!
what a warm and reassuring comment
                  sublime: in and of itself

                • Thekkinkkattil

Its nice that you wait with sunshine under all adversaries Very positive attitude and inspirational too

                  • L. B. Mek

'inspirational', is a rare praise to reward poetry with
and even rarer for us mere scribblers to receive
                    how very kind, thank you!

                  • Goldfinch60

True words Mek, we must always go on in our lives knowing all will be well.

                    • L. B. Mek

I carry - forward, mere ambers
                      from your torch of positivity
gifted to us all willingly - Andy
                      and this you know
                      is not just feigned humility
                      but truthful testimony, my friend
                      thank you!

                    • Joe Dawson

Like much in life, the rain doesn't last and the warmth of the sun prevails. Good work. Joe

                      • L. B. Mek

                        thank you, indeed
'rain doesn't last and the warmth of the sun prevails'
is a wonderful interpretation of my scribble, dear Poet

                      • PrEm Ji

                        dear poet,
                        you are sentenced for life,
                        in the prison of poetry!

                        • L. B. Mek

                          could be worse, I guess
                          I might have been given
                          Dictionary duty 😨 ...! lol
what an impassioned comment, dear Poet
                          I'll humbly thank you
for wishing me, such a rewarding path in life
                          (fingers crossed)
we can keep the dream alive, a little longer

                        • Laura🌻
