Shed Tears

Pacifique Niyitanga

When I'm not around,
Stop calling me
If I cannot talk to you;
Please, don't force me to
No care, just forget it and move on.

Don't beg me to smile,
For real, I love none of your jokes,
Let me spend my night in peace,
My songs are not the only lullabies
No see, keep it in your mind and sleep.

I know you love me,
But don't dive in too deep
Keep an eye on me, but you can't lock me
I do whatever comes in my mind
No follow, I can't go under your control.

My presence isn't your life,
Lie to those fools out there
Yes, I'm a man, but not yet to be yours
Please, set your mind free from jealous
No me, you can live, stop it your drama.

If I'm sad, I'm bad too
Beautiful, watch your moves
Or we can easily break up and leave
Take it slow, rushing isn't a good option
No arguing, just go and cry, I can't change.

There is a flip side to being the object of someone's devotion - it can (not always but sometimes) feel like a responsibility, a heavy weight.
And you have captured that well, NP.

Yeah, it's hard to tell the truth, actually to the one you love but finally we have to spread it out....
      Thanks DD
