Servitude

Kurt Philip Behm

I’m willing to accept

that it’s all but a cloud

Memory behind me,

and draped in a shroud

I’m willing to accept

my fatality deemed

A portal indentured

—to dreams left undreamed

    'A portal indentured'
    yeah, that's a line I gravitate towards
    that thread of feigned opportunity
    'They' - float, invitingly
    just out of reach, knowing
    by the timing you arrive
you're so black n blue, even
    your memories are curtained, blind
in an endless night: of futile regret...
(another write that had me tracing prickly scars
    now long repressed
and for the most part: blissfully - forgotten...)
we must shed, to find strength - enough
to take, that most important: next step!
    (thanks for sharing, dear Poet)
