Before becoming a poet
You had no intention
For composing words
Of training that attention
And then one day
A voice you heard
Your inner Muse
With a descriptive word
You knew not the source
But the call you couldn’t resist
To follow instructions
Your Muse inside insists
There in your heart
Edit and tweak it
As the idea evolves
You can even speak it
And now it’s yours
A poem you’ve written
With the help of your Muse
Of poetry you’ve been smitten

You didn't waste any time here Teddy, I'd only just posted it. Thank you as always. And I do also embrace my gift with pride and honor my Muse.
I think our Muses are having fun at our expense. Fine by me. 😁

Muse but not Music - it'll only start me off singing! lol.
Not if your Muse puts a muzzle on you. 🤣
Perfect description AP. Gotta love the muse
You can pick your friends, but not your family or muse. Quite possibly as it should be. Thanks Sax.
almost as if it was dictated to you
Well Ron, my Muse does have some very very persuasive powers. And I just a tool of prose. 😎
as we all are
In my case it only took a moment in my life where I saw the origination of an artwork by my daughter and the tears streamed from me as my muse awoke within me telling me I need to write words about what I had seen.
Andy
Bless your daughter Andy. And your muse 😉
