Words #3

rebmasters

Your words are bleeding out of you;
you can’t hold them in place
with paper towels,
or lose them beneath shouts
of hot running water.
It just worsens;
you become infected
with words;
they can’t coagulate.

Have someone stitch you up
with shaking hands,
still cracking jokes,
barely alive,
dying from words
splitting your lips;
cracked, crazy smile,
can’t keep ‘em in.

Write them beneath your skin,
open my lips & put them in,
scrawl them on sand
beneath a hand
becoming numb;
stark, pale, lifeless
& immovable soon.

Insatiable;
life still misunderstood,
but what you bring is what you get.
So, smother me in words
to be consumed
by you
& be remembered by
only us two
