Twilight Disconnect (+2)

Kurt Philip Behm

The farther away you get from your essence

—the longer your nights become

(Dreamsleep: July, 2021)

To Glen Campbell

Hitchhiking Angel,

twelve stringed harp,

wandering spirit

—Elk City wind

(Tucumcari New Mexico: January, 2019)

A Silent Toll

Are you everything you could have been,

the moments gone,

the wafer thin

While reaching out did you lose hold

of what defines you,

a broken mold

The chase elusive, running wild

into the darkness,

a bastard child

To reach old age before your time,

a broken bell

—that cannot chime

    Kurt,

    • “Twilight Disconnect”
These nights are prone to get longer and longer.

    • “To Glen Campbell”
    One of my favorite artists…
    obviously for his songs
    and his
    ‘twelve stringed harp’….
(Thanks to my aunt for introducing me to that one).

    • “A Silent Toll”
‘Are you everything you could have been,’…
Hoping to have the chance to find out.

Three great reads for this long night.

The vinyl record player is ready…

    Laura🌻
