Notice of absence from HannahElisabeth
Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.

Time is ticking

Never ending

The hourglass

Like sand

Cascading

Through my fingers

Day by day

Your brightness

Fading

You didn’t build your hell

But you can’t fathom leaving

Trapped in a web

Of your own weaving

Haunted by lack

The ghosts you created

Haunted by hunger

Never satiated

No wonder I was never enough

Like a mirror to your sins

I remind you too much

Of an emptiness

You don’t know how to fill

Hot and cold

You feel trapped

Trapped by the truth of us

And what you fear you lack

Haunted by insecurities

That tie your hands

Behind your back

You said

We didn’t ask

To feel this way

And that you wouldn’t ask

To change it

We can only play

The cards we’re dealt

Well,

My love,

Your poker face is amazing

"You didn’t build your hell but you can’t fathom leaving"

    That's brilliant! Very nicely penned.
