I Know Why Women Talk Too Much

Lelae

We come from a lineage of women whose voices were suppressed.
Time have changed and so have we.
I was once in my mother's womb and i don't remember anything,
Maybe that's how God made it so we don't.
But I'm pretty sure, our spirits get stirred up at times, and we get a blurry vision of those strenuous 9 months. Nine continuous months of us hearing men look down on our mothers their voices echoing throughout the room like they own it all, like they own their voices.

Our mothers and foremothers kept quiet.

Now when we born we still have those faint cries of our mothers and grandmothers and great grandmothers. Nowadays girls are stubborn they say

But no no no.

Yes you were a fool to believe in evolution
But you better believe in female evolution,
because our voices are going to be heard
and not suppressed,
We begetting  generations with voices,
generations with choices
You better watch out world
You better watch out ...

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is inspired by Maya Angelou's poem : I know why the caged bird sings. It is just a thought that crossed my mind about why women talk too much😅
