Feathers

chasing_sunsets

Ruffled and puffed up,
feathers all fluffed up
waiting for the warm sun.
In a few minutes
spring comes and then it’s
oh joy!
The sunny days of fun!

Flitting and singing,
chirping and winging
to hither yon and fro.
Catching and caching,
storing and rationing.
Oh boy!
Just where did summer go?

Leaves are a-falling,
winter is calling.
Blast this snowy weather!
Go fetch the stored seeds,
that fulfill your needs
whilst you,
keep warm with your feathers.

My gosh I didn't see your comment until now--so sorry!

Thank you! I wanted to use one of my own photographs I have taken of the chickadees around here but I found none of them suitable 🙁
