Lucky Coin

HannahElisabeth

Notice of absence from HannahElisabeth
Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.

We shared a running joke

That luck was never on our side

But my skies are getting brighter

While you withdraw and hide

Our worlds both crashed and crumbled

Rugs ripped out beneath our feet

Repeatedly, that feeling taught us

Not to miss a beat

Some believe our thoughts

Can manifest themselves

So I stopped believing luck exists

To save me from myself

The beauty of destruction

Is that the brokenness leaves room

For light to find its way in

Allowing seeds of love to bloom

We shared a running joke

That luck was never on our side

The more I look around me

The more I think that it’s a lie

I surrendered to the chaos

Allowed myself to feel the pain

And finally my seeds are sprouting

Nurtured by the rain

Some believe our thoughts

Can manifest themselves

If that’s the case, my darling

You bring your luck upon yourself

Seems I’m always on the move

Once again my world upended

But I never missed a beat

I think I finally found my rhythm

We shared a running joke

That luck was never on our side

I’m here moving on without you

While you withdraw and hide

Our worlds both crashed and crumbled

Rugs ripped out beneath our feet

I thought this time you’d catch me

But instead you missed the beat

Some believe our thoughts

Can manifest themselves

It's impossible to love someone

If you can’t love yourself

I found a lucky coin last night

While cleaning before I moved

In case our paths might cross again

I saved it just for you.

You can only do just so much for someone when they won't do for themselves what they need to do. Eventually the time comes to move on and wish them well. Believing in oneself is key to having faith in oneself. Great write Hannah 👍

Thank you Accidental Poet, sadly that's been the toughest lesson for me to learn. But I think I'm finally there. I greatly appreciate the kind words 🙂
