Where were you
When the wheels fell off;
When the bumps in the road
Unbalanced the load?
Where were you
When the ship was going down;
When the storm and the water
Engulfed every quarter?
Where were you
When the stars didn’t align;
When the lines on the page
Didn’t match the sky’s stage?
Where were you
When the ants marched off home;
When the crumbs left behind
Blew away in the wind?
Where were you
When the show was all over;
When the noise, lights and crowd
Became just a grey cloud?
Where were you
When the night was so cold;
When the hope of the day
Seemed frozen and fictional, far far away?
Did you hear me?
Where were you?
Did you hear me?
Where were you?

I like what you are saying and how you are saying it.
For me it could do with some (and that doesn't mean column yards) context. To whom are you addressing this?
Thanks for reading and thanks for the comment.
To me, poetry is just as much about the reader's interpretation as it is the poet's original prompting/s.
So, "To whom would you address this DD?" might be the question. Hehe.
Good luck, Jo....Hehe.
I think there is someone in everyone's life that we could yearn to say this to - I just loved it's lonely message.
Thank you. Yes, it's certainly a lonely message.
