Wading Through

jo

I'm crying but not from my eyes
There's a puddle of tears inside
Swallowed but not digested
The salt is stinging my heart

My face smiles at more new news
My voice speaks for itself
My mind tries to compute the data
My God is silent

It hurts more than sunburn
And tires more than a mountain climb

I'm wading through
I'm looking forward
I'm awaiting a clearing
I'm hoping for a path

It feels like I'm still here
But later I will turn back
And see just how far I've come
