Wrong Turn

kingdomcleeves

in the words of tupac,

“why do we hate our women?”

why are they scared at night to walk the block?

are they scared of the dark ally or the evil in them?

we don’t carry the weight of this mace without fear

i understand the consequences of going out to grab a beer

but do you?

do you feel the burden of our bodies curves?

do you feel the nerves

as he ignites hers?

just a spark in the dark,

time to cover up your shoulders it’s getting colder,

oh god is he getting closer?

time to phone a friend,

or just might have to pretend,

time to grab that mace just a little tighter,

turn that corner just a little faster,

time to be known as a “survivor”.

my name will be stripped,

my lips zipped,

my voice ripped.

all because of a wrong turn.

Unfortunately it's the evil that is scary not the dark ally. walking at night can be as deadly as being in a cage with a tiger. Thank you for shedding the light on this!
