A MAN IN PROGRESS

shadow424

he

was a familiar

landscape

like nearby

fences and hedges

a body

without surprise,

clothed in

comfortable

with top button

buttoned,

shirt and pants

pressed

a dedicated

purposeful gait

and a stormy

weathered voice

having been around

for many seasons

blending easily

into the heartbeat

of town

walking the same

route to work

and home
