Pasts Like Stars

chasing_sunsets

Across the spans of galaxies
if only we could witness,
we'd see our pasts approaching at
a lightspeed pace of quickness.
Although those stars for ages now
have long since been expired,
their light moves on eternally
and gracefully un-mired.
Toward the future our pasts shine--
always forever brightly;
elsewhere other worlds are watching
our pasts twinkling nightly.
