I Just Want Someone

jo

I’m not interested
In having a huge house
I just want
Someone to call home

I don’t care
About earning the big money
I just want
Someone to spend life with

I‘m not interested
In applying for a prestigious job
I just want
Someone to win my heart

I don’t care
About enrolling in more study
I just want
Someone to learn who I am

I’m not interested
In seeking out new friends
I just want
Someone to find me

I don’t care
About going overseas
I just want
Someone to ask where I’ve been

I’m not interested
In being famous and fancy
I just want
Someone to laze with me on the couch

I don’t care
About buying new things
I just want
Someone to give me their truth

I’m not interested
In high fives and thumbs ups
I just want
Someone to hold my hand

I don’t care
About new phones and devices
I just want
Someone to connect to

I’m not interested
In eating at an exclusive restaurant
I just want
Someone to sit at my table

I don’t care
About having perfect hair and makeup
I just want
Someone to kiss my forehead

I’m not interested
In flying far away
I just want
Someone to chat to in the car

I don’t care
About having a king sized bed
I just want
Someone to hold me in the night

I’m not interested
In making my backyard like a magazine
I just want
Someone to sit with in the sun

I don’t care
About counting plastic likes
I just want
Someone to love
Someone to love me

      Beautiful ❤️

I particularly love your first stanza - I wish I had written it!

Yes rebmasters is right, that first stanza is very powerful and could be a stand-alone piece by it's merit.

          thanks so much! 🙂
