A willow between green fields

meerabwaqar

A willow between green fields

Childhood memories and sweet sixteen

Sat under its shade hoping for peace

But when the sky bled she wept bitterly

A willow between green fields

Trails of bruises on her sleeve

She asks, “What has happened to me?”.

Wondering if I am still me?

A willow between green fields

Searching for sun on thunder street

Empty houses and no warm smiles

Loneliness spreading through her stained cheeks

Feeling like

A willow between green fields
