Truest

Valerie Alexandra

The truth is,

I’ve always known

What being in love

And loving someone

Truly means

The feelings I have

Are pure and strong

Albeit sacrificial

Yet with you

I feel peaceful

Like I finally found a safe haven

Where I know

There will never be

Any worries

Because

You are my medicine

My rock in the strong waves

My love and my doom

And

My broken remedy

  • Comment from author about the poem: There is no such thing as perfection in love. When you chose to love someone, you are willingly accepting their flaws and loving them entirely as one with the perfection that we adore. As much as they are, say, apocalyptic, to us, our hearts remain in love still.
