where walks both beast and angel
on Summers hair as pure as milk
with Winter walking side shift to the mouth
shoots south with faithfull heart with gravels' eye
with wounds as old as fox tail bites on a Spring lambs boot
a symphony of wind chimes gifts two flavours through the straw
as thumps both beast and angel chest
on harbour lights too bright to darken sound;
from paradise to pulpit on a salt spoon
my ship with ballerena sails dancing with my spine
on seas of Swan two miles apart
feeding lanters decked with holly on a quay stone
home of heart and folly
drinking Jolly Sailors ale in Portsmouth Hoy
once dry as lizards tongue
now drunk as mourners surfing a limp sea;
where is home for the lime bones dead as sage?
with anchor dropped on steel of rushing tide
where walks both beast and angel
through the sinus of the cuckoo nesting late between my ears
between a harpoon and a whales gut toasting barnacles and brie
behind a masked intruders hunger cries
between sods earth and the clouds that course the movement of the sun
as I journey through one century a Rasputin of the sea;
