Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.
Oh,
The beautiful lies
That you weave
Now hanging by a thread
From your web
Of deceit
Got lost in the chase
Just your band-aid
Quick fix
In the name
Of escaping
The life that you built
I know
You won’t give me
The semblance of closure
Kept begging
And pleading
You’d say that it’s over
Nothing more than a liar
A coward
And cheat
– I bet that she still doesn’t know about me –
Robbed blind
Of my heart
And you haven’t the balls
To finish a damn thing
That you start
Saccharine,
Your words for me
When I was what you wanted
Like you'd never get enough
And I wasn't
Or at least
Just enough
To be your escape
A sort of liminal space
In between destinations
Wish I could say thanks
For the memories made
I all but erased
Every remnant
And trace
Of the sins we committed
I’d rather forget
Yet,
Here I am staring
At the lines
And the pages
Saturated, lovesick
Can’t bring myself
To delete
The only proof
I have left
Of the last six
Or so years
So raise a glass
And say cheers
To fake friendship
And every damn broken promise
And the fact
You've no concept
Of what honor is
So go,
Get your fill
Of material wealth
I honestly hope
That it hurts you like hell
The moment you realize
I’m fresh out of chances
And possessions
Will never be the answer
Your idea of happiness
An ever-fleeting endeavor
And though I feel used
Turnabout is fair play
So here I am, using you
Nothing more than a pronoun
A nameless muse for my collection
If I do ever publish
Here’s to you,
Handsome

Gotcha - hung and framed, but especially hung; perfect material just waiting to be exploited......
And you did that Hannah, so neatly but comprehensively. Shouldn't class that as a fun read, but it was.....
Hey I had my fun writing it, I'm glad at least someone could enjoy my extra sass today haha
Ouch, this hurt and beautifully so .. & thank you for considering my recent scribble ma'am ................. N π
Yours was quite the enjoyable reprieve after writing this one, thank you for stopping by π
