Old Clock

Lorna

Tic Toc

That infernal clock

Ticking off minutes

It begs the question

How many till we die?

Like fingers down a blackboard

Change the tune

Toc Tic

Get it over with

How can anything pace so slow

And yet run so fast

It's got stamina I'll give it that

Not that anybody asked

Ignore it, Lorna, ignore it. Agree with the sentiment embodied in your well penned piece, but still I ignore it.

    • Lorna

Just a little annoyed with myself that I "ate up time" by ignoring it years ago when I should have been paying attention to all the wonderful (I always ignored the bad stuff and there was that) things I had with my husband who is gone now. I did stop and say "thank you for all the adventures" to him sometimes but he just looked at me and wondered what I was on about......

Ah - to ignore time doesn't mean I don't savor the moment - that is where my attention is focused - not on the bloody clock.......I think I've missed something - please correct me if you are of the same mind.

Or ask, how much more can i fit into every minute, every hour, day, week year......

Time moves steadily on and all we can do is live one tick at a time. Great write Lorna.
