A glimpse of hope

gerrylegister

The good thing

Is not having a mind

Of sad feelings analysing time.

I have those dark days,

They sometimes govern me.

With lonesome displays

When earthly ties are broken

I have a friend in heaven.

The Comforter and saviour,

That makes all flaws be forgiven.

He opens for me the door,

Showing the fire in my heart,

Radiance like his own presence,

Truth being, more than doubt.

Were you like me once?

Long ago, when you had a chance,

Did you permit yourself

A simple glimpse of hope?

Before erasing the hurt,

Would you open the door again?

And dull the pain in your own heart.

    soothing, to read
even for those not aligned with its theological themes
    thanks for sharing
