Shafts of sunlight fill my bedroom
Brightening the day,banishing gloom.
Specks of mere dust glitter in light,
Almost nothingness,nearly out of sight.
A very thin film coats a golden scale,
Despicable dust,finger writes a trail.
Of such we are made from the earth
Yet, how important,how much we're worth.
The bully may feel you're nothing but dirt,
A useless nobody,he piles on the hurt.
It matters not what colour or hue,
What’s important is that you are you.
A special person, of that you can trust;
You're not a nobody, you're more than just dust!

Expressive writing .. good choice of words . Yes , bullies make you feel like you are nothing . But we are important
'Of such we are made from the earth
Yet, how important,how much we're worth.
The bully may feel you're nothing but dirt,
A useless nobody,he piles on the hurt.
It matters not what colour or hue,
What’s important is that you are you.'
Amen!
life-affirmingly exuberant, such a healing read
in this days of chaos, what a gift
thank you! for choosing to share, dear poet..
reminded me of those great lines from
'A psalm of Life' by Longfellow:
'Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream! --
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.'
