How Do You Begin?

jo

How do you begin
To accept others
If you have not
Accepted yourself

You see them all dancing
You don’t know the steps
They all look so happy
Like they have no regrets

You watch and you wonder
What’s missing from you
Whatever they have
Why can’t you have it too

Their lives are all sorted
They know just who they are
You sit in the middle
Who is it you are

Just sit back and relax
Things will happen in time
Be patient, be still
For waiting’s no crime

Why don’t you try
To be you, only you
Don’t focus on them
Let the true you shine through

How do you begin
To accept others
If you have not
Accepted yourself

Thank you for reading and for the affirming comment. 🙂

Accept is indeed a very strange word if you cannot accept yourself for what you are. Though sometimes shame creates an unassialable barrier.

I believe you have found the answer. Well done.
