Never Enough

CalebTriesPoetry

An empty room, is all I see

A room that could hold one's legacy

Legacies are all people see

Everyone has a room for their legacies

Seeing an empty room, one might face

Thinking of what to put in this empty space

They look and see a small dark room

Look and you'll see a limitless void

And as they see the room getting darker and darker

They begin working towards the imaginary marker

They fill the space with their goals and dreams

Yet the room remains empty, nothing to show

So they work towards their hopes, clinging to them

And people consider them as a worthwhile gem

But the room is still empty

Having no visible end

With what little time they have remaining

They achieve things while the room's light is draining

Things that no other could accomplish

Yet in the end, they could never fill up the limitless room

And as the room fades to black

They cry for the things they never had time to do

And the room fades away, along with them

But really the room never existed in the first place
