The Incomplete Metaphor

Sometimes,
I’m amazed
by the depth
of thoughts
in my brain.

But just when
I sit to write
them down,

they become
lighter than
the paper I
write on.

I guess this
is why they
say that we
hold poems
inside of us
that paper
can’t handle.

  • dusk arising

There's a lot of truth there my friend. Somuch gets lost in converting the emotion of thought into words upon paper or screen.

    like your thoughts devour each-other
    choked such you can't utter
words never flow as smooth as butter
    just way too much clutter
