Just-ifying Myself

jo

I’m not depressed
I’m just bored out of my mind

I’m not anti-social
I’m just short of friends

I’m not ugly
I’m just waiting to be chased

I’m not unemployed
I’m just in need of more work

I’m not hating my parents
I’m just wanting to move out

I’m not impatient
I’m just getting low on hope

I’m not incapable
I’m just lacking challenges

I’m not a failure
I’m just going at my own pace

I’m not stuck and stagnant
I’m just moving forward bit by bit

I’m not a hopeless case
I’m just waiting for my turn to come

I’m not abandoned by God
I’m just listening hard for His voice

I’m not a mover and shaker
I’m just keen to see people comfortable

I’m not a spender of dollars
I’m just wanting value from relationships

I’m not about to compromise my morals
I’m just hungry for people to do new and exciting and fun things with

I’m not too late
I’m just confused by God’s timeline

You have an interesting style, Jo - allows for quick comprehension, which is not to say that your poem is any the less valid for that...
I was with you all the way until I hit God a the bottom, and I'm not quite sure where you are there.
