Stained Glass

HannahElisabeth

Notice of absence from HannahElisabeth
Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.

I carry on the remnants

Of everyone I’ve ever loved

Mosaic bits and pieces

Once thought broken

I made whole

I am

But the amalgamation

Of every soul that came my way

Who saw the light

Despite the darkness

Sparking hope for brighter days

And though I do so love the darkness

For the moon, she calls my name

I thank my lucky stars, now basking

In the glow of my own flame

  • Comment from author about the poem: Thought I'd take a break from posting my darker stuff and pay homage to those who got me through that darkness. Despite publishing more of my dark poetry recently, I've come a very long way since I wrote those and I'm ever grateful for the love and beauty I am surrounded by.

You are too kind, thank you!

Also, thank you for starting the winter fusion poem, I greatly enjoyed adding to that 🙂

      Beautiful words ...

You phrased that so well. Many of us beyond a certain age and each with their own card of experiences will know exactly how you feel. There's much to be said for casting free and going it alone.

I'm very fortunate to have learned this sooner rather than later. Thank you for reading and such kind words!
