Just a Moment in Time

Gino

Strangers we've arrived
with pathways I can't see,
for your always on my mind
in every waking travesty
endeavoring in every moonlit odyssey

You shiver at night,
for I want to hold your cold
but I know your time is running out
into every dream I wake

With your beautiful dawn to behold
your face is all there is to hold
for I can't seem to recall
the strange things of yesterday

Together our faces regress
for just a moment in time,
savoring what we've already touched
but still struggle to recall
our last chance to stand

Winding down the sparsely avenue
no one seems to know
how you got into my head,
for I can't seem to forget
our last chance
into the immortal night together
for just a moment to dance

Our evening slowly folds,
as your haunt remains
in the rubble of my dream

Struggling to awake,
your face begins to fade
down the dissipating naked avenue of fate,
unwinding our last cross into the night
for just a moment in time
traveling across my way
