Notice of absence from HannahElisabeth
Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.
Taking a long overdue mental health vacation. I will check in when I can.
Stirring from a fever dream
In which the universe came to me
Speaking words of ancient wisdom
Which I now cannot recall
Only then did I realize,
I used you to love me, too
And I’m sorry,
We were mirrors after all

- Comment from author about the poem: The result of getting metaphorically smacked in the face with a big humble pie... This sounded so prolific when I woke from the dream, but I might very well have Covid so... Stay safe guys and be careful what you wish for 🙃

Does feel a little fevered to me, Hannah - metaphors are not a strength of mine - so does not the other need to be happy with their mirro.....nah the first four lines does for me - experienced that often enough.....
Oh it definitely was fevered lol. All of my poetry makes far more sense in the order it was written, which I am hopeful to publish my first collection very soon, as I think this was the final ending to that period I wrote about. As for the metaphors, I can't reveal all my secrets now can I?
that unshakeable disconnect in life
between, what we hope for
and where, our choices land us...
I'll wish, that you don't have covid
or if you do
that, the universe grants mercy
and its not the worst kind
remember, never let your dream
of 'even better': falter
cling to that wisdom, of asking
'why did this happen: 'For Me'?'
never succumbing to the futility, in lamenting
'why did this happen: 'To Me...!'
(an insightful write
thanks for sharing, dear Poet)
'this too: shall Pass!'
Thank you dear friend for the comment, it could be far worse. My biggest concern is other's safety, so I'm locked in my room catching up on lost sleep and some humility. I shall know shortly if this is, in fact, Covid. Stay safe my friend
Hope the Covid stays far away, but the one you wrote this for is close at heart. Stay safe Hannah. 😉
I can only hope so to both of those remarks, thank you for the comment my friend. You as well!
To truly know ourselves we have to realise, to see and accept our imperfections. Your piece reads as a step along the path of true self awareness.
So many are fixed in a false vision of themselves and emit such contradictions as to make them a confusion of standards.
I hope covid will be gentle with you if you are unfortunate enough to have succumbed.
Thank you dearly for the wise words, this was my way of calling myself out for failing to realize I was 'casting the first stone" while being guilty myself.
I could not agree more with your commentary, and thank you. I think I'm on the mend, I will know soon if this was Covid. If it was, I am very fortunate.
Stay safe my friend
Beautiful poem, Hannah. Also, hope you have a happy birthday!!!
