A Palette Of Colours

jo

A palette of colours
Colours from beyond the horizon
Colours from around the corner
Are now in my frame
The seal released

Each brush is foreign
Guided by gentle hands
Guided slowly, considerately
To form beautiful lines
Smoothing my edges

The artist sees the true image
While mirrors are projections
While photographs are one-sided
And watermarked false
My canvas is temporary

This new paint
At first on the surface
At first blotted away
Is beginning to soak through
Life imitating art

Thankful piece
Closer to the artist
