My dearest father, forever with me

BusyB

Up a hill in a distant land
Where grey boulders lie
Scattered with abandon
Sit two self built houses
Belonging to the same family

Each year you could see
The brush and undergrowth
Being beaten to form a fire break
Thus wildness so easily caught alight
To protect those within the inner circle

The properties are protected from outside world
By an additional electric fence
High voltage but a necessity
In a world of thieves and plunder

However,
With determination and know how they got in
The window bars gave no protection
Roughly and coarsely they took a life

Brutally they covered his head, with a strip from a brown belt
Their knives causing most of the damage
They throttled the life out of a defenceless
Family loving man
They insulted him with their careless actions
And left him to die, alone

The villains we're never caught
In a land where bribery is rife
They left us with broken souls
Broken hearts, a loss in humanity

    how horrid, a reminder
that there's no Nightmare, as brutal and reprehensibly sudden: as reality..
'Brutally they covered his head, with a strip from a brown belt
Their knives causing most of the damage
They throttled the life out of a defenceless
    Family loving man
They insulted him with their careless actions
And left him to die, alone'
I'm so sorry for your tragic loss, I laud your bravery for sharing something so raw and personal, in such a frank and stark manner..
I pray the universe gifts you the strength to find a path forward,
you and the rest of your hurting family and friends..

Thanks, this happened 20 years ago. My brothers and I have learnt to live with it, even though it seems like it happened yesterday. X
