Welcome

Jennifer Martin

                 Welcome

Oh, the mellow hues of dawn,

set upon horizon’s crest.

Dancing leaves, a gentle breeze,

whispers ‘cross the meadow’s breast.

Distant hilltops, crowned in flames,

of vivid orange and red,

illuminate an amber path,

the day which lies ahead.

The pale perfection of morning’s inception,

paints a smoky sky.

In peaceful succession, sunlight’s procession,

ascends to heaven’s high.
