summer lovin’

asrealastheycome

summer lovin

Baby I had me a blast

One thing we knew was comin

It couldn’t last

Only a few months pass

We was movin so fast

Strong as a tsunami wave

But even those crash

Still we caused damage

Look at the after math on the path

Shit we knew the situation

We was lovin on borrowed time

We embraced infatuation

And for the limited duration

I was lucky to call you mine

All good things come to end

So we knew when to cut the ties

I don’t dwell on those lows

I stay lifted on all of our highs

we went our separate ways

Shit then why can’t I get you off my mind?

I 'm not a great fan of love poetry generally (and there's a lot of it). Here, however this is straight up and direct no cloying gooey stuff.
    Good for you.
