Denial’s

and so, we no longer see each other

above festering dams of our denials

snug fit, between societal ease of conformity

and fingertipped belonging’s, herd mentality

instead, we brushstroke our wishes

to curtain

heritage-splintered, ledger etchings

lamenting our misquoted sages

vehement visionary’s fleecing truth

innate tear-stained patches, grimly

grinning through customised loopholes

with their winking, virtue signalling;

until a beckoning shrill overwhelms

and toothless fingers, decimate

decade’s blockaded by stubbornness

with but a smiling gurgle, of innocence

as its too rude to not greet

long lost childhood’s - whaling sermons,

veracity of beauty’s shockwaves - inspiring

unwalled mindsets to bypass: archaic hate.

See, all those Differences and generational Animosity

Simply, melt away in the face: of a Rejuvenating baby

Reminding us, like that blossoming Spring

All that Peace and Harmony we truly crave.

I adore these lines, so poetically written

as its too rude to not greet

long lost childhood’s - whaling sermons,

veracity of beauty’s shockwaves - inspiring

unwalled mindsets to bypass: archaic hate

As ever your work is inspiring dear L.B another epic in my mind. Love the last lines of only we could have it. X

      'if only': indeed, my friend
      As-ever, you choose to invest
      your precious time and kindness
in gifting me such an encouraging comment
and all I can do to repay you
is humbly and with the utmost sincerity:
      Thank you! dear Poetess

Peace and harmony is what we all crave and to do that we need respect and love for all.

        Amen!
its that last word, that trips us up
        for 'All'
as our differences, equates to distrust
        far too often
leading to fear, if not appeased early
and then fear, feeds all those open avenues
        to hate..
        but, somehow
we have to find a way, or else
segregated communities, will be the reality
in our collective future's, divided societies...
        (Really appreciate your succinct
        and insightful summarisation, dear Poet)
        Thank you!

Wow. I really enjoyed this one.
Your final words are so very true. To behold the wriggling spirit of newborn life does bring forth the finest hopes held deep within us as a species. This despite the facade behind which we tolerate the day to day abuses of our conscience whilst we quietly comply.

Strong thought provoking stuff from you.

A brilliant lead into what parenthood at times achieves by new life that re-binds a fading relationship. Love the imagery L.B. and into my list of faves goes this poetic gem.

          • L. B. Mek

            very true, dear Fay
we so quickly pigeonhole and tick-off
those minor miracle achievements, in life
            parenthood, being a perfect example..
thank you for your insightful comment
and adding a new perspective from which
I can read and better understand
my very own words, what a kind gift

                      Exactly, dear Poet
                      that same innocence, we lost
racing, to be all grown-up and important,
                      not knowing
we were at our finest, when all we could do
                      was smile, gurgle and cry
and gift those around us, with a taste
of the purity in life's, unadulterated Beauty...
(thanks for the insightful and encouraging comment)

Nobody can resist the gurgle of a new born baby who enters this human world in total innocence. It purifies our spirit and such beauty inspires us, filling our heart with hope for the future and reminds us of the Spring in our own life. Yes, the past is forgotten in a blanket of loving forgiveness. A new baby in a family can bring such healing to rifts continued for generations. Sublime penning, dear L.B. in this mind-blowing write. Kudos well deserved and gratitude for sharing your wonderful poetry with us, dear poet. I wish you a very lovely evening to enjoy. Bless you always, dear L.B...

To escape the weariness of day to day living spend but a few minutes with a new born. What is it about babies that break down the powerful walls of humanity? Sad men laugh. Lonely men smile. Brokenhearted men are healed. All by the gurgling, giggling, little infant.
Oh by the way, nice poem. - Phil A.

lol, what a brilliantly Poetic comment
yes please, engage openly and comprehensively
with my humble scribbles, and let my words
                            be reduced to mere introductory, afterthought's;
for that, I shall cherish your kindness' gifts
more than you could ever, realise...
                            I thank you, sincerely: humbly!
