I will teach my child to be just like the sun
They’ll recognise that they’re unique, that they’re the only one
They shall show everyone sincerity, like a rare gem
And the world will give their appreciation right back to them
I will teach them to extinguish their soul’s inner light
For their radiance and value is far beyond what’s in sight
And once their show has taken place
They’ll know to let the moon have its moment of grace
They won’t knock the moon out of orbit because it’s a “better igniter”
As dulling someone else's sparkle won’t make you shine any brighter
My child will be like the sun
And embrace the moon’s excellence, as there is only one
But if moonlight subsists, then why does the sun need to shine?
Well, the sun wouldn’t exist if it didn’t have a place in the sky...
