[ Chains ]

Heart of Babel

The government is evil

I've got eyes that see for centuries

Deceitful, all but lethal

It's a holocaust of recipes

Calling it a masterpiece

Rob you of your memories

Worship is the centerpiece

As silence falls on travesties

Burial, the view

It is graven of a different kind

Crucified the Jew

Death, destruction, devastation primed

Colleseum audience

Chanting for the death of time

Hate to hear the obvious

That genocide is not divine

Raised up in the multitudes

A mob that breeds through hatred

Minds lost to hysteria

Through fear all dominated

Striving for a common cause

Conformed and congregated

All civility abandoned

As war leaves them segregated

No connection in relationship

The absence of a family

Tribal in their heritage

Gainful in their vanity

Raising principalities

To cultivate brutality

Lurking in the shadows

While the mind turns to insanity

This is not a fantasy

Mass indoctrination

A plague throughout our history

Cultivating nations

The evidence is in the act

Of all submissive patrons

Turning citizens

Into the reapers of damnation

Holding silence to the travesties

While parading institution

Condemning all that acts of peace

While praising persecution

The religion of the State

Is to demand your contribution

Through choice or through violence

With no hope of retribution

There's no hope in revolutions

Within the rule of any governance

That which man has crafted

Can't create a lasting covenant

For authority through violence

Will not bring about deliverance

And the sermons that they choir

Are but a serpent's utterance

Slither off the tongue

To seduce you with its poison

The venom of a lie

Set to claim the life it's stolen

Time to rise out of the depths

To the chance to be awoken

Let the evils fall away

And let these chains finally be broken

all so very true, a sobering read..
until we realise, that same oppressive government
is in actuality, employed by us
    voted into power, by us
    paid for, by us...
and so I ask you, All
    exactly Who, has the Power
    in this relationship?
One of the ways, they deter us
is by making us feel powerless and obsolete
    while its they, that quake
at the prospect of us awakening
    to the Realisation, that
    We, Dictate to our government
    at least, for now
while there's still a semblance of
    a Republic's feigned
    democratic ambiguity..
We need only heed the power, we Wield
and we can start undoing our mistakes
from that very next Ballot box, we stand in front
(some succinctly worded, incisive commentary, as-ever dear poet)
