Quarantine

Maira

QUARANTINE

Got up early, rubbing my eyes

When I became shocked, out of surprise

“what’s the time?”, oh 12’o’ noon

OMG, why didn’t I get up soon?

“come here honey and wash the plates

Cuz I have a lot to do before its late”

“but mom, I really wanna eat some food

And cant you read me, from my mood?”

“but honey, its about to be lunchtime

And you are even out of the breakfast time

Time is tough, your siblings are busy studying

So who will look after, if you keep arguing?”

“fed up of the quarrels”, the dad said

“cant u end up before I am dead?”

“seriously I think office is the best

At least from home, it gives me much rest”

“go on honey and mop the floor

And don’t forget to wipe the doors

Most of the virus can enter from here

It can affect us if we don’t take care”

“mom, I am fed up of all the chores

I really cant help it anymore

How long will this virus last

And when will the things be back like the past?”

“oh quarantine, when will you go?

Don’t really test my patience anymore!

All this home, seems so gloom

I wonder when the flowers shall bloom.”
