THE SHAPE OF TODAY

shadow424

todays entrance,

a gray flat flannel sky

a bold morning statement

of thoughts from above

unsure of what shape

or colors will shortly follow

soft waters slip by in a

slanted rocky stream,

its corners and pooling

satisfied with the volume

touching mossy banks

here,

surrounded by a sober

stillness, a silence,

saying nothing,

quietly breathing
