Moon Child

figuring-it-all-out

Fey moon child
Lays
Palm toward the lurid moon
To receive the night
The inky velvet shroud
Festooned
With firefly stars, promising-
She is pulled
Purple in the light of a ravenous
Celestial abyss
Consuming her
Devoid of regard
For her worldly life or kin
She belongs to an orbiting
Miasma
Of night
